As the first Data Architect within our dynamic Data Engineering Team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing our data infrastructure. Our team, with your addition, will push the boundaries of BI, strengthen the backbone of our data infrastructure, and allow our company to take data driven decisions. Your expertise in maintaining AWS Redshift, designing effective data models aligned with business requirements, and optimizing queries will be crucial in driving our organization's data initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable data models.
Design and implement data structures that support the organization's analytical and reporting needs.
Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of Redshift clusters to meet business needs.
Conduct thorough analysis of queries and work towards continuous optimization for enhanced performance.
Document, educate, and Implement best practices for query tuning and indexing to streamline data retrieval processes.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to recommend improvements in data architecture and tools. Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance data processing capabilities.

Requirements

At least 3  years of experience in Data Architecture.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience working with AWS Redshift/PostgreS QL, including performance tuning and optimization – at least 3 years of experience 
Proven experience working with Athena/Presto
Strong expertise in data modeling and designing data architectures based on business requirements.
Proficient in query optimization techniques and best practices.
Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in the data engineering space.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with Python
A huge plus – experience with Looker
